Dear Friends
Esoteric as it may sound, has any of you in the past happened to
rent/borrow a supercon magnet power supply suitable for a 750 MHz system
i.e. a main coil of current of at least 260 Amps. and used it and if so
can you share the information about the possible source(s) ? I am
nursing a decade+ old magnet here, which needs a overhaul soon viz.
potential contamination accumulation and intermittent ice bridges.
Although the wheels are set in motion by contacting the company, talking
about $$ etc., I just want to think of a back up plan so that, if
something precipitous develops, I can try to at least bring down the
current gracefully.
Thank you very much in advance, for sharing your wisdom as well as
horror stories if any (Halloween in the North America is round the
corner !).
Regards
Rajan
