60 Hz vs 50 Hz equipment

Hi all,

Does anyone have experience in operating 240 VAC, 50 Hz equipment from a
230 VAC, 60 Hz source? Might not be a problem with computers and
electronic equipment, but I think the change in line frequency will make
it run faster (theoretically, will run 20% faster). However, will it
cause overcurrent and thus overheating and eventual damage to the
equipment?

As an accessory to the lab, I'm thinking of purchasing a chiller (run by a
freon compressor) that is rated at 240 VAC, 50 Hz while our power is
nominally 230 VAC, 60 Hz.

Best regards,
