have an opening for a NMR Spectroscopist at our Research Triangle Park
site in North Carolina.
Position Details: Provide NMR support for development projects in Chemical
and Pharmaceutical Development including characterization and structure
elucidation of drug substance, synthetic impurities and degradation
products. Develop and apply new techniques to facilitate and improve
problem solving. Operate and maintain NMR instrumentation, acquire and
interpret data. Maintain laboratory documentation and records in
accordance with cGMP. Establish and maintain a high level of customer
focus in progressing departmental projects. Collaborate with analytical,
synthetic, and process chemists to solve problems, develop methods, and
generate results to support process and route optimization, regulatory
submissions, and clinical programs. Provide technical leadership and
guidance within the NMR group. Mentor and/or supervise other
spectroscopists in spectral interpretation and instrument operation.
Qualifications: BS, MS, or PhD in Chemistry with specialization in NMR
spectroscopy. Demonstrated record of accomplishment including a minimum
of 2 years of relevant experience in NMR structure elucidation of small
molecules. Requires extensive knowledge and familiarity with NMR
spectrometers, NMR software and unix operating systems, excellent
leadership and communication skills and an ability to work effectively in
a multidisciplinary team. Must be able to maintain and operate
high-resolution spectrometers, acquire and interpret multidimensional
spectra, and implement new experimental techniques. Knowledge of the drug
development process is considered a plus. Grade level will be determined
by skill level and qualifications.
