SGI Indy ethernet followup

Thanks to all who responded to my query about ethernet cards for my Indy.

There were several commercial vendors suggested-
XS International
Reputable Systems
Minicomputer Exchange
Mashek Systems

however none of these have the board in stock.

Both eBay and computerhotline.com did have some listed.

The Phobos B130 card was suggested as a substitute. I have one, and it
doesn't work- but I don't know if the problem is the specific board or
a general one.

A suggestion was made to use IP aliasing to set both IP addresses to one
card- but as the Bruker software specifically looks for a second card,
I'm not sure it will work.

Two people confirmed my inclination, edit files and swap labels. (The
only file that should really need editing is the netif.options )
# /etc/hosts
       149.236.99.1 ASP_ST2
      149.236.99.99 spect

  # /etc/config/ifconfig-1.options
        netmask 0xffffff00

  # /etc/config/netif.options
        if1name=ec0
        if1addr=ASP_ST2

Finally, I received several offers of used boards, and I have a working,
2 ethernet system now.

thanks again to all who responded,

kas
