*NMR Scientist at Preclinical Sciences at Merck*
*Position Description:*
The NMR scientist will join Merck’s Preformulation Group and support drug
product development utilizing NMR as a major tool to understand the
chemical and physical stability of sterile formulations at the molecular
level. The candidate will work on cross-functional teams and be responsible
for conducting physical measurements on small molecule, peptide, and
protein formulations. Ideal candidate should be a well-trained PhD of
solution NMR and highly experienced in structural elucidation of
biomacromolecules. Expertise in other biophysical characterization
techniques and background in biophysics and biochemistry are strongly
preferred.
*Position Qualifications:*
· Education Minimum Requirement: PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry,
Biophysics, or Biology, or related discipline.
*Required Experience and Skills:*
· In-depth training in solution NMR with extensive experience in
multidimensional and multinuclear correlation techniques for
biomacromolecular applications.
· Comprehensive knowledge of NMR instrumentation, methodology and
software.
· Strong academic record including publications in peer reviewed
journals.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Self-motivated, creative and energetic scientist willing to
continually learn and solve complex problems.
*Preferred Experience and Skills:*
· Confident wet-lab skills and expertise in biophysical
characterization techniques of peptides, oligonucleotides and proteins.
· Knowledge and experiences of biochemistry, biophysics and protein
sciences.
