We are looking for interested candidates for a new Strategic Research Funding Coordinator (SRFC) position in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. We are looking for a Chemist (strong M.S. Chemist, for example) who is interested in being an integral part of our grants coordination staff. The SRFC will work closely with our very talented Financial Manager in the Department to help formulate grant budgets. The SRFC will help groups work on collaborative grants, and should enjoy writing and chemistry, broadly defined.
The SRFC will have the opportunity of working in a new BIG Ten Department with a lot of energy and great science. The Department has strengths at the disciplinary interfaces in Chemical Biology (strong Synthetic Organic and Bioanalytical Chemistry underpinnings) and Materials Science.
We would appreciate your help in making sure that this ad reaches well qualified individuals.
Finalists will be flown out to Lincoln, Nebraska for an interview, so that they can get a better view of the Department, the University and the City, and so that we can meet the candidates in person. Lincoln is a growing city of >250,000 population. It is the State Capitol and home to the University and much more.
The brand new Pinnacle Bank Arena and the Haymarket neighborhood (featured in this video) have been a magnet for top acts (Paul McCartney, Elton John, Pink, Katy Perry, the Eagles) and this nicely complements the more traditional programming at the Lied Center for the Performing Arts (Lincoln Symphony Orchestra, Broadway plays, professional ballet, Yo-Yo Ma, etc.)
