AMMRL: kudos to Imperial College's SPECTRA topic discussion

Hi All,

Certainly I wholeheartedly agree with what has been said with respect to the availability of spectra in publications or associated therewith or otherwise available on the web, it is perhaps surprising that it has taken so long to get to where we are at the moment and with still a little way to go, but at least progress has and is being made in this regard. And if the availability of spectal files can replace the mere pictorial presentation of spectra in supporting information files, generally inadequately sized and totally useless in most instances, wouldn't that be superb ?

But I am surprised at the negative comments regarding tabulation of data, this can be the best way to present or to examine data, spectra are good for looking for specifics or chasing down additional info or really examining multiplets closely, but who wants to wade through wads of spectra when a compilation will do the job quick and easy in many cases ?

Anyway, does anyone know of good way (program or whatever) to present NOE and/or couping data in a compact way on a depicted structure rather than by trying to fit everything onto the one picture (too much crowded information) or by using several pictures ? I like PowerPoint and flicking through a slide show showing up one proton at a time on the same structure, but it is tedious to construct this type of representation. (Students and non-specs absolutely love it.)

Regards,
Karel Klika
