AMMRL: VNMRJ and dual boot

Greetings!

While I thought I had seen a post or two on this in the past, a quick search of the archives came up empty. So, has anyone configured a DELL 390N to run both Linux and Windows XP, while also having VNMRJ operating off the Linux partition? I'm not interested in this configuration for spectrometer operation, but instead just for my office computer. (The working assumption here is that many of the XP programs I use on a daily basis are either not available or current XP versions won't work on Linux). While I'm at it, a second question just came to mind: Varian specs the E6700 2.66GHz processor, but for simple workstation VNMRJ use not requiring spectrometer control, how much less of a processor can one get by with. (I believe the E4300 1.8 GHz dual core is currently "included in the price")

Thanks in advance, and I'll summarize if worthwhile.

Neal
