Hi David,

I would second that sentiment. We ran into a similar issue last month
upon finding out that our regular supplier had a required "order within
a year" timeline. Since our last order, we had decommissioned our old
spectrometer and were doing an install on a new one. For the install,
the cryogen for initial cooling was supplied by the spectrometer
manufacturer. Then when we finally needed to do the first refill, we
were past this magical deadline by less than two weeks.

We looked around and found two other suppliers that would sell to us,
one at a 40% markup, and the other at virtually no markup.
Incidentally, the second alternate supplier was another distributor for
the same major liquefied gas vendor. I guess they didn't get the memo.
Good for us.

Take care,
Rick

Our regular supplier has been working with quotas for the last couple
of
months and informed us today that the quotas have ended. We needed
1,000
liters for energizing a magnet last month, our regular supplier said
no
way, but we were able to find a supplier that apparently never
instituted
quotas. For anyone currently having trouble, I would recommend
calling
more than one vendor.
