AMMRL;
Many rare, obsolete parts are available on the excess electronics inventory
market because most electronics parts are made in great numbers and there
are always leftovers. Because you can't find them on normal searches from
electronics catalogs of new manufacturers doesn't mean they can't be found.

I've had great luck with this company for both digital and RF parts:

www.aattech.com (if it doesn't show on their web search give a call and
they will find it)

Please note when purchasing from almost any of these sort of re-sellers that
they have minimum purchase limits that usually is more than $100 so think of
something else you need before you call or web-form bid or you might end up
paying 10 times the price for the one item you need.

Hope it works out,

Dr. Moni -
     This might be available on e-bay, either as a Commodore or as the
bare 6500/1 chip/module.
