Dear AMMRL Members,
I would like to describe the situation and put a question to the group.
Our Varian spectrometers present systematic hang-ups, i.e., the
communication between the console and workstation frequently breaks,
putting the system readily into "Inactive" status. This occurs,
particularly with high frequency, when the user logs onto the machine.
The hang-ups turn into an acute problem at the Inova-400/Mercury-300
cluster, as these machines are heavily used by Organic Chemists. The
Inova-500 is a lot less used for quick acquisition but also loses
communication.
We have investigated this problem and could not find a clear-cut answer to
it.
The question is: does anyone experience similar problem? Any input would
be most welcome.
In advance, thanks for replying and collaborating. I will put a summary
of the responses afterwards.
Cheers,
Carlos
