Hello Spinlanders,

Our original Bruker monitor is dead. During its death throws, I ordered an
IBM CGA monitor from a company called PC Solutions. The monitor arrived
this morning. The monitor does not work with the Aspect 3000 video output.
Our Aspect 3000 video output is via a male DB 9 pin connector. We were told
by folks from Bruker that the pinout is as follows:

1 red
2 green
3 blue
4 H/V sync
6, 7 ground

The IBM CGA monitor has a male DB 9 pin connector with pin 7 missing. The
video output and CGA monitor were mated with a male/male DB 9 connector.
NG.

Phoned PC solutions and was informed that no CGA monitor will work with H
and V sync on same pin. In reading through archives, was under the
impression that original Bruker monitor was a generic CGA type and that a
NEC multisync II or plain CGA monitor would work as a replacement. Tech
person at PC solutions said no way.

If anyone has successfully solved this problem, please let me know how you
did it. Numare is dead in the water until the problem is resolved.

Thank you and kind regards,

Lawrence
