Dear NMR Lab Managers,
Back in 2001 we announced a free web-based scheduling software called
'FACES' that is hosted at
the Complex Carbohydrate Research Center, University of Georgia. This is
primarily a sign-up calendar for each instrument that allows users to
book their own time, and email each other to 'negotiate' time. The
program is run from here, so there is no local software installation.
For the last few months, registered groups have been using an updated
version which incorporated many of their suggestions. The main
improvements are:
- greater ability for managers to customize each resource; e.g.
restricting use to a 'class' of users,
restricting signup to certain times of the day or week, setting time
limits,etc.
- built-in accounting tools based on sign-up time (reduces somewhat the
discrepancy between signup and login time)

- Add authorized users
