RedHat and CD-R's

Since Bruker has decided to move away from SGI (Newsletter 21) I have
been investigating RedHat 7.2. I have it running on a Pentium III
machine and use it for daily backups and remote management. Here is my
question, has anyone gotten a CD-R working with RedHat 7.2. I would
like to know any details or advice you may have. I have been trying to
install X-CD-Roast without success. Many thanks.
