Lazaros--

We are still going strong with our 15-year old VXR-200 magnet which we will
replace with a higher field magnet this summer. The Helium boil-off is just
slightly higher than in years past, but the magnet is very stable. It has
been moved several times and has been given elevator shoes to accommodate
Bruker probes and a Bruker console, but it just keeps on going. If it
works, keep it.

good luck.

Dear AMMRLers,

We are thinking about replacing our 14-year old VXR-400. One scenario calls
for replacing the console only while keeping the original widebore Oxford
magnet.

If we bring down the magnet, change o-rings, seals, gaskets etc refit and
re-energize can we hope for a long living, healthy spectrometer or are we
opting for trouble? Are there any major magnet components that need
replacement?

Please share your thoughts and experiences.

Regards,
