Magnets available?

Greetings,

We MAY have an opportunity to obtain a Varian Unity 500 console fairly
cheaply, and are exploring whether we might be able to find a used
magnet and put together a second 500 for our lab. Any suggestions?

The very same day we heard of this we also managed to quench our
Varian 300 R2D2 magnet during a fill. I hate this magnet; we have had
about 5 quenches since it was installed in 89 (versus NO other
accidental quenches of any of our Oxford magnets). Before we spend
the money to bring it up again, we considering other options. The
above mentioned 500 is one possibility, another would be to get a
different 300 magnet. Anyone know of a normal 300 MHz magnet (i.e.,
not an R2D2) looking for a good home? I realize there will be
shim/upper stack/probe questions to deal with, unless it comes from a
Varian system.

Six-figure options are out, but there is some money available for
this.

Thanks.

Steve
