First, let me thank everyone who responded to my plea for an autodac
board. This is one great thing about this group: there are so many helpful
people here.
I am slightly embarassed to admit that the problem was an improperly
seated cable, so we don't need the autodac board afterall. Originally, the
board had a bad regulator (a common problem as many others mentioned), but
when we put it back in and the voltages were OK but some of the shims
still didn't work, we were at a loss. Never a waste of time to check those
cables......
