Announcement:
We have an immediate opening for a grant-paid research position, at the
post-doctoral level, in the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Research Resource
(NMR-3) at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The duties
of this position will be to develop and grow our efforts in research on
energy storage and conversion materials, and as such will focus on
solid-state NMR of a range of electrochemically active materials. We have
just received CFI funding for infrastructure in this area, through a
proposal led by Michael Freund and Erin Johnson, together with co-PI’s
including Josef Zwanziger (NMR-3 director), Jeff Dahn, Mark Obrovac, Mita
Dasog, and Ghada Koleilat, and others, and it is expected the candidate
will liaise closely with these groups to develop projects of mutual
interest. This CFI grant is funding among other things purchase of a
dedicated solid-state NMR spectrometer for this project as well as an in
situ NMR probe for electrochemically active materials. The candidate is
expected to have a strong background in solid-state NMR, and preferably
also in energy-related materials. The position is for one year with the
possibility to renew based on performance and availability of funding. For
