Rainer,
Which version of PV (4,5 or 6?)

Is this a data station or for acquisition?

Dan

Subject: AMMRL: ParaVision under CentOS 6.x/64bit

Hello,

as you guess, so far I am not successful to get this software
(microimaging) running using the mentioned environment.
After a lot of successless attempts I am now in the progress to move everything back to CentOS 5.10

The background of the attempt to get ParaVision runing under the latest CentOS release was a broken working station running RHEL 4.
To migrate TopSpin was no issue, both TS 3.2 and TS 2.0 are running fine.
ParaVision refuses to start nearly without any comment.

Playing some time I ended with the command line
    pvstart
inside Topspin 2.0. Within the history logfile you can follow the attempt to start ParaVision via pvCmd and the termination of this start attempt with Java signal 127. I had a look and this error messages should indicate a missing child process.

Here ends the wisdom.

As already mentioned I am doing a backport, but nevertheless until now I didn't give up. What might be wrong? Topspin comes with its complete own environment, including libraries and the full Java run time environment
