Spinlanders,

Florida Institute of Technology, College of Science, is looking to hire its first instrument specialist/technician. There are three responsibilities, in order of importance:

(1) NMR spectrometers in the Chemistry Department: currently a Bruker AV-400 and (dead) AMX-360 (proposal pending for AV-600). Cryogen fills, user training, experiment implementation, troubleshooting, minor repairs.

(2) Mass spectrometers in the Chemistry Department: TOF and GC. Some ability to troubleshoot and do minor repairs would be helpful: involvement would be less with MS than with NMR.

(3) Electronics assistance to the Physics Department.

If interested please contact Dr M.W. Babich, Head of the Chemistry Department, at 321-674-8046.

A formal advertisement will appear soon. Speaking of which, this being our first position of this kind: what would be a productive place to post it?

Thanks,

Al Brown
