AMMRL: VNMRS-500 eject problems

Hi Everybody:

I am having a problem with our eject air on our Varian VNMRS-500 NMR
that is new to me. We began having this problem after we moved into
a new building, but I don't know if that is relevant or not. I am
leaving on maternity leave one week from today. So, this is a crisis.

The eject air does not always come on. This has been an intermittent
problem that rebooting the computer seemed to fix, but now it will
not. It does not seem to be a air flow problem, but a communication
problem. If you click the eject button, the eject air will come on,
but in the time that it takes to walk to the magnet and climb the
ladder, it goes off. Then, it will not respond to eject or insert for
several minutes. If you climb the ladder first and try to use the
switch at the top of the barrel, it takes a very long time before the
air comes on. If you toggle the switch, then when the eject air comes
on, it will eject and insert as many times as the switch was toggled.
I have reset the master board in the console, I have turned on/off
the pneumatic router, I have reseated all of the communication cables.
