NMR Support Position
at
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
National Ocean Service
Hollings Marine Laboratory
Charleston, South Carolina

    An appointment for an NMR scientist will be made in the Hollings
Marine Laboratory (HML) NMR Facility, most likely at the Bachelors or
Masters level. Expertise in chemistry, chromatography, electronics or
physics is desired to support research in the fields of metabonomics,
structural biology, analytical measurement science and natural products.
Duties will be executed in the NMR facilities at the HML including
500MHz, 700MHz and 800MHz NMR instrumentation. These instruments are
equipped with a wide array of accessories that will require a unique
individual who is self-motivated and responsible. Duties will include
physical activities such as cryogen fills, probe changes and wet lab
support.
    The HML is a multi-institutional research facility with partners
from NOAA, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the
Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), the University of
Charleston, and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR).
