Dear Members,
I have two 15 year old Varian R2D2 200 MHz NMR magnets which have both
provided many thousands of high quality NMR spectra over the years.
About ten years ago I had the seals replaced when the magnets were moved
to a new site. The helium boil off rates are now creeping up and I
would like to try and get another few years out of the magnets before I
either retire them or have the seals replaced again.
I want to pump on the magnets while at field in order to try and improve
the liquid helium consumption, I have available a high quality turbo
pump but I do not have the vacuum coupling that goes between the turbo
pump and the spring loaded magnet valve which allows one to open the
magnet while the vacuum line is pumped down. My questions are these:
1. Does anyone have one of these they would like to donate, lend or
sell?
2. What is the name, part number and price of such a coupling?
Many thanks as always,
Hope to see you at the ENC.
