Hello Again AMMRL,
Thanks for all the responses! The answer is: in the data browser (³Data²
tab of the window on the left of TS) right click on the data file to open
and select from the menu ³Display in New Window². (I tended to use File ->
Open, where it looks like displaying in a new window is not an option.)

Hello AMMRL,
I am trying to get familiar with operation with TopSpin 4.0.6 on a
spectrometer, and have one little question. In previous versions (3.x)
multiple windows for viewing data or setting up parameters were treated
differently. The new method in version 4 with the window icons showing up on
the left side of the TS window is good, except there is one little problem:

I can see how to open a new window when a new dataset is created (by
checking ³Open in a new window²), but I canıt find a way to create a new
window when NOT creating a new dataset, for example, when I just want to put
an old saved dataset into a separate window for viewing and not overwrite an
existing window.
With TS 3.6 we could make a new window independent of dataset creation with:
View -> Layout -> Create Empty Window
But in TS 4.0.6, there is no longer any ³View² menu and this function seems
to be missing.

Will a kind person out there clue me in? Thanks so much to anyone who has
figured this out!
Margaret
