Colleagues:
Thank you for your many suggestions, especially Clemens Anklin and
Jerry Hirschinger. I was able to locate the charging rod and shorting
plug removal device, along with pin-outs for the rod. Unfortunately, I
couldn't get the shorting plug remover to screw onto the shorting plug
. After ~3 hours of trying (off and on), I went to plan B -> I used dry
He gas to force LHe out of the cryostat until it quenched. I'm now
letting it warm to room temperature before releasing the vacuum.
