Hello,
I am seeking your opinions on and experience with an air dryer for
our newly-installed Varian/Agilent MR400.
While pricing a pre-conditioning air cooler, I learned that the vendor,
FTS/SP-scientific, also sells an air dryer to go with their air cooler.
The additional cost for the dryer is half of that of a Parker-Balston
UDA300 dry gas generator with a receiving tank, so it seems that the FTS
air dryer/air cooler appears to be a significant cost saving.
I do have a reliable source of clean, compressed air for the NMR facility,
as demonstrated on our other spectrometer (INOVA500). The air compressor
has its own drying unit, but since it is not under my direct control, our
INOVA500 also has a Parker-Balston system. This provides extra security
and ensure dryness before feeding it to the spectrometer and its FTS
pre-conditioning air cooler.
Could you please share your opinions on the FTS air dryer? Do you think
that the FTS air dryer might be sufficient, given that our compressed
air are already dried and cleaned.
