Hi Spinheads,
We have a Chemagnetics Infinity 400MHz console with their 500 Watt high
power proton amplifier. The amplifier is eating up $1,000 triodes fairly
regularly, with less and less time between failures. Does anyone have any
maintenance suggestions to extend the life of these tubes? Does anyone know
of a good replacement for this amp?
Other than the tubes wearing out, are there any other maintenance issues you
are having with the amp or its power supply? We have had to replace the
cathode bias zener diode in the power supply, but now have a heat sink
mounted on it to try and avoid it happening again.
