Solaris* with a Varian Unity console.

Hi all,
        The last Varian newsletter to mention it (Jan., 2001) states that
Solaris8 is not compatable with a Unity console. A call to tech support
confirms that this is still Varian's position. The incompatability revolves
around the Solaris8 scsi drivers and the HAL. Has anyone proven them wrong?
I thought I had heard, or read that it is possible. Thanks.
