Job Responsibilities: The successful candidate will participate
in the development and application of NMR spectroscopy for drug
discovery and preclinical candidate optimization efforts. Major
responsibilities will include operating and maintaining NMR
instrumentation, hardware and software troubleshooting, data
management, as well as applying NMR, flow-NMR and LC-NMR for
structural and conformational characterization of synthetic
compounds, drug metabolites and natural products, and for other
targeted problems solving. The NMR group has many state-of-art
NMR spectrometers (Varian 600MHz, Bruker 500MHz and 400MHz) with
latest accessories.
Education and Years of Experience Required: B.S. with 4 or more
years, or M.S. with 3 or more years of experience in NMR
spectroscopy or equivalent experience preferably in a
pharmaceutical industrial setting.
Core Competencies/Skills Required: The position requires in depth
knowledge and understanding of the applications and practical
aspects of NMR spectroscopy. Expertise in 1D and 2D-NMR data
acquisition and interpretation, good working knowledge in Unix,
SGI/SUN workstation, and HPLC is essential. Experience with
utilizing computer based applications, automation software and
data processing software is preferred. The individual must also
possess good written and verbal communication skills and is able
to work in a team-oriented environment.
