Dear Fellow Resonators,
We are being asked to move a 15 year old narrow bore 400 magnet to a new
location in the building where it now is. It will have to go up one
floor in an elevator. Does anyone have experience moving such old
systems? Has anyone tried to move one live? Did you change the seals as
part of the move? (Obviously, that wouldn't be a live move.) Our magnet
is working well where it is with good homogeneity and low cryogen
consumption. It has never had the sticks back in since it was originally
installed.
Any experiences, good or bad, that you care to share would be
appreciated.
Charlie
