ELBA Power Supplies for Bruker BLAXH Pulse Amplifiers

In response to John Harwood's posting about the cooling fans on the BLAXH
pulse amplifier power supply:

We have had three of these power supplies fail since the Jan. 1999
installation of two DRX-500 consoles on this campus. After paying the
Bruker exchange price of $1,500 twice, I found out from Bruker that these
power supplies can be sent directly to New Jersey for repair:

        U.S. Technologies
        ustechnologies.com
        800-234-0862
        contact: "Van"

They sent me a quote for repair for $385. The disadvantage is that it
takes 3 weeks. Also, they don't guarantee that they can repair it. I
haven't got mine back yet, so I can't say anything good or bad about them yet.

If you lose one of these power supplies on a 3-channel DRX, you should be
aware that the BLAXH and BLAX power supplies are identical and
interchangeable; thus you can be up and running for all but
triple-resonance experiments in a few minutes.

One final note: I think that Bruker uses two different power supplies for
their pulse amplifiers, and ELBA is only one of these brands.
