Hi:
We have one Agilent 400MR with 50 sample autosampler. Now there is a problem
on the autosampler when it retrieves the sample from the magnet. Here is
what happened:
When it was retrieving sample from the magnet, the arm fingers did not open
when it touched with the sample above the magnet and failed to grip the sample
tube. the arm just pushed the sample down and moved to another position
90degree from the magnet. it opened the figures at that position and stopped
there. the sample then dropped into the magnet again. the error message was:
Acquisition error: Sample changer failed to retrieve sample and sample detected in magnet
This sample grip problem happened only when it retrieved sample from the magnet.
it worked fine when it gripped sample from the tray.
I tried to reboot autosampler controller and sampler base. it worked for several
samples before the problem came back again.
Could anyone help to identify the problem? Any suggestions and comments would
be greatly appreciated
