Instrumentation Specialist-Chemistry
Pomona College is recruiting qualified candidates for a full time
instrumentation specialist. The successful candidate will manage
research and teaching instrumentation (such as NMR, GC-MS, LC-MS, AA,
FTIR) in the Chemistry Department, while providing assistance to the
Biology and Geology Departments when possible (microscopes, ICP-MS).
Responsibilities will include routine maintenance, training faculty and
students to use instruments, providing support in instructional and
research activities and consulting on the development of experimental
protocols. Qualified candidates will possess significant experience in
the use of chemical and/or biochemical instrumentation in research and
teaching environments and will have outstanding verbal and written
communication skills.
Minimum qualifications: A master’s degree in chemistry or chemical
engineering (or equivalent work experience).
