AMMRL: coupling constants

Questions:

Can someone tell me what the "standard practice" is (or maybe just how you
do it) for calculating and reporting simple proton-proton coupling
constants such as "1.2 Hz"?

Do people routinely just subtract the two peak chemical shifts in ppm +-
0.001, multiply by the spectrometer frequency, and then report that as Hz?

Do you expect reported coupling constants to be +/- 1 Hz? +/- 0.1 Hz? Does
it matter?
