Has anyone run into this particular issue with a newer Varian triple
resonance hexagonal body probe? After a couple of years in use, we have
started to see bands of noise at approximately 1 kHz when the heater
is in use. This problem is random and will disappear for long periods of
time. It is unrelated to the VT unit in use (as it occurs with multiple
VT units). It has been suggested by a Varian probe engineer that this
issue may be related to the use of the probe in a non-shielded magnet.
We have never seen this issue with the older (circa 1996-7) 600 MHz
square body triple-resonance probes. Thanks in advance for any hints
on this issue.
