AMMRL: Linux Printer

Linux gurus-

I've made a few new users recently. They can print inside TopSpin
because I issued the correct lpoptions command when I made them. An
annoying thing is that when they log in to Linux, an Eggcups screen
comes up telling them
Specify Printer Driver
and the correct driver is not in the list. When they cancel this
screen, they can print normally inside and outside TopSpin.

nmrsu does not get this error on login. I tried making the new user a
member of the nmrsu group and including /home/nmrsu in the path
statement of .bash_profile of the new user. The driver I guess is in /
home/nmrsu/hplip-2.8.12 for this HP LaserJet, but the principle is the
same for any printer. The directory hplip-2.8.12 has a few hundred
files in it with various permissions. Anyone know which of these are
the ones that need looser permissions? Or a shortened way to deal with
this for new users?

I am running out of minutes to deal with this minor annoyance, so if
there is no easy way, new users will just have to cancel the erroneous
error message on every login, and I'll stumble upon the answer
accidentally in a few years. This is the life of a part time NMR
manager.

Thank you!
