Adobe Acrobat Installation Problems

Happy Friday to all. Quick question, has anyone installed Adobe Acrobat
Reader on their Sun system? I am downloading the tarred file from Adobe and
then I uncompress and tar -xvf the file. There is then an icon that says
install, so I click on it. When I do, it creates a folder and starts the
installation process. Half way through the process, it gives me the
following error message and stops, tar: read error: unexpected EOF. Is
this something wrong with the software itself, or have I done something in
the process that is causing this? I am running on Solaris 8, if that is an
important fact.

I know I can ftp any files from my Sun to my PC, but what I am trying to do
is ftp pdf files from my PC to the Sun and print them out there. I have
some NMR manuals I would like to print out that are quite lengthy and don't
want to tie up our network printer.

I will post a summary of results.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Adrienne
