My PTS 160 in my old VXR-300 has gotten flaky and I expect it to fail soon.
This is the no-knobs model that has most of the DM modules missing so that
resolution is the crudest 100 kHz. (The offset synthesizer does the rest of
the frequency job.)
Does anyone have an old one that you'd be willing to lend or give? PTS will
fix mine affordably, but I'd like to have a loaner in place during the repair.
The problem, by the way, is that the PTS stopped listening to the BCD bus
for frequency instructions. I took the covers off to inspect - and it
started working again! I'm running it without the covers for the time being.
