I thought this announcement might be interesting to some members of this
group. They achieved a field of 45.2 T a couple of weeks ago.

>The members of the Condensed Matter NMR group is proud to announce the
>FIRST EVER OBSERVATION of nuclear magnetic resonance at **40T** at NHMFL
>hybrid magnet on July 6, 2000 at 1640 EDT. Cesium-133 in aqueous CsCl
>solution resonates (as nature intended) at 223.3206MHz in a field of
>39.99901T. The hybrid magnet performance was execellent having the best
>homogeneity of 83ppm.
>
>Much of this milestone is owed to the efforts of our graduate students Tod
>Caldwell and Margie AbdelRazek who have spent considerable time in
>preparation for this run. We would like to thank the hybrid crew, John
>Pucci and Bob Smith, the REU interns Magnolia Tun and Helen Aslanian, and
>Prof. Carel Boekema and Prof. James Brooks for their valuable assistance.
