On Friday, January 22nd, professor Gheorghe D Mateescu passed away at age 92.
He was Professor Emeritus in the Chemistry Department of Case Western Reserve
University in Cleveland, Ohio, Many of us remember his contagious enthusiasm
and optimism and dedication to teaching and advancing the applications of NMR.
His book, "2D-NMR, A Density Matrix and Product Operator Treatment",co-authored
with Adrian Valeriu, is a friendly aid in teaching the modern NMR. An important
achievement of his was a series of summer schools and courses to teach MRI to
radiologists in Romania starting in the mid-90's.
He will be missed, he was a good friend.
