Hello everyone
So we've begun teasing around a bit with melt NMR and have put in an older
VTN MAS probe for sacrifice should things go terribly wrong.
We purchased some Vespel caps (see dark brown caps in image below) to work
at about 140C and I've been having trouble getting them to spin up. I was
told by Bruker that the 'ancient' DB (Double Bearing) MAS probes have a
different rotor that they no longer carry. I'm assuming they are referring
to the Drive caps.
So I found what might be an old 4mm Vespel cap (image below - yellow
mustard looking cap) digging around in the drawyers and I'm lookign for
confirmation. It spins up but I'm hesitant to take it up to temp without
confirmation that it is indeed a Vespel cap.
Anyone have experience with this older probe and high temp rotor drive caps?
Thanks!
