Dear colleagues,
The ASTM E13.15 NMR Standards Task Group is pleased to announce the availability of the new ASTM Standard Practice for Measuring and Reporting Performance of Fourier-Transform Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (FT-NMR) Spectrometers for Liquid Samples E2977-14. This new standard practice contains requirements for liquid NMR test samples, for their certificates of analysis, and for their use in determining and reporting the performance of FT-NMR spectrometers operating over the range of 200 MHz to 1200 MHz. E2977 contains explicit standard practices for 1H, 13C (both 1H-decoupled and 1H-coupled), 31P, 19F, 29Si, 15N, and 14N sensitivity measurements, methodology to create sensitivity tests for other nuclei, standard practices for 1H, 13C resolution and lineshape determinations, as well as specific standard practices for measuring water suppression, gradient-profile strengths, and probe temperature. The practices in E2977 are suitable for the determination of day-to-day spectrometer performance, for use in problem diagnosis and resolution, and for the setting and meeting of relevant spectrometer performance specifications.
The E2977-14 standard is available from the ASTM website (www.astm.org) in pdf format for $62.00. E2977-14 can also be found on the ASTM Standards on Disc CD, October 2014, Volume 03.06.
Best wishes,
