I wish to thank Eugenio Alvarado, Andrew Fowler, and David VanderVelde for
responding to my

Question. They all pointed out that you can make links of libtcl8.3.so and
libtk8.3.so to the libtcl and libtk in current OS, in the following fashion,

ln -s /usr/lib/libtcl8.5.so /vnmr/lib/libtcl8.3.so
ln -s /usr/lib/libtk8.5.so /vnmr/lib/libttk8.3.so

And 8.4 - 8.6 are backward compatible with 8.3. This is indeed the case and
my problem solved.

Subject: AMMRL: RE: vnmrj under Fedora

I installed vnmrj2.2C under Fedora14 according to the procedure that Eugenio
Alvarado posted on Dec 1, 2009. VNMRJ works fine, but when I tried to
launch 'makePrinter', vnmrWish fails. The error message:

#/vnmr/tcl/bin/vnmrWish: error while loading shared libraries: libtk8.3.so:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Has anyone encountered such a problem and solved it?

BTW, has anyone installed VNMRJ under ubuntu?
