Adrienne,

We have replaced consoles successfully quite a few times. If your
magnet seems OK, there is no need to replace it. If you have a space issue
and it is an older non-shielded magnet, you could save space with a new one.
But that would be up to you as to whether it is worth the cost.

Subject: AMMRL: Upgrading NMR - Full Replacement or console replacement?

Good morning. I am beginning the process of pulling together the costs of
replacing our NMR. One of the finance people asked me if it is possible to
replace a console only or would we need to replace the whole system from the
PC to the magnet. My question to you all, have any of you upgraded to a new
console on an older magnet? If so, how did that work out? Or do you
recommend purchasing a whole new system?

Thank you,

Adrienne
