NMR Spectroscopist Position
The DuPont Corporate Center for Analytical Sciences is seeking an NMR
Spectroscopist who will be responsible for providing technical leadership
in the DuPont NMR group and who will actively engage in applying NMR and
other technology to problem solving. The position is at the DuPont
Experimental Station in Wilmington, Delaware. The ability to carry out
research programs to establish and grow the CCAS technology capabilities
in solution NMR is also required. Duties will include the hands-on
analysis of samples by multinuclear solution NMR to characterize a variety
of DuPont products. This position requires a M.S. in analytical chemistry
or equivalent experience, broad technical understanding of materials
science and chemistry, as well as excellent teamwork and customer
interfacing skills. In addition, this person should be confident and
proficient in the use and optimization of modern NMR instrumentation and
the interpretation of NMR data. Considerable experience with sample
preparation chemistry is required. The successful candidate will have
demonstrated ability to apply published new NMR methods. Experience with
statistical validation of measurement systems is required. An ability and
willingness to travel occasionally to DuPont and customer sites is also
essential. Experience within an industrial analysis laboratory and
experience with other (HPLC, IR) analytical instrumentation is desirable.
Skills Required:
M.S. in chemistry or equivalent background and experience
5- 15 Years of hands-on industrial experience with NMR spectroscopy
Hands-on experience with polymer sample preparation for solution NMR
Familiarity with the broad range of other spectroscopic technologies (IR,
UV/VIS) and HPLC
Experience with statistical quality tools
Strong problem solving skills- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Demonstrated leadership skills (e.g. coaching, lead teams, manage
technical projects)
