Hi Lazaros,
Bruker has an Application Hotline at 978.667.9580 ext 5444. They will
request an original BH # or system ID to provide assistance. If you buy a
spectrometer used you will not have the needed info and may not be able to
get help.

Subject: Used NMR purchase and service

I am posting this on the behalf of an academic institution that is
interested in purchasing a second hand 300 or 400 MHz liquids instrument,
most likely from used equipment trading companies or from companies that
sell refurbished NMR systems.

What has been your experience with such a purchase? What kind of
performance specs (vs the original ones) are expected?
Most importantly, what kind of service support is out there, with or
without a service contract? Do the original manufacturers provide some
kind of support for their instruments that are still in use? I know that
Varian has an 800 number where you can get help. Does Bruker or others
have a similar arrangement?

With regards to a magnet like an R2D2 or Oxford's AlumOx, how concerned
should they be about resilience, stability, and performance vs a regular
stainless steel magnet?

If you are aware of such an instrument for sale, please let me know.

Best regards and best wishes for the New Year to all,

Lazaros Kakalis
