Mysterious Spinning Sideband

Dear AMMRL,

I have been plagued with funny spinning sidebands.

They consistantly appear only on the low frequency side of the main
signal, the other ssb,( the high freq side) is usually very small or
non-existant. They are phase coherent.
They usually appear at the spinning frequency and sometimes in multiples.
The still appear if the X &Y's are well shimmed and there is little
difference between spinning and non spinning lock levels.
They seem to be a problem only in switchable or BB probes, 5mm and 10mm,
in 1H and X nuclei. We haven't had a problem with our 1H/19F probe
400MHz.

Does anyone have an idea what could cause this?
