Hi Tanya,

You can use many programs to do that. Nuts software can export data as
ASCII text that can be opened in Excel. Similarly, the freely available
MestRe-C (V2.3a is what I use) has an very easy "export as ASCII" option in
the pull down menu 'File'. You can just choose the Real points.

Quite sometime ago, at someone's request, I transferred Varian data by FTP
from our Inova 500 to a PC and opened into EXCEL. It was so slow. With
faster processors available these days, it is very easy to handle so many
xy data in excel now.
