Subject: Southern California NMR Meeting
Esteemed Colleagues,
The current incarnation of the Los Angeles Area Magnet Experts (LAME) has been
broadened to encompass all Southern California Users of Magnets (SCUM). Our
next meeting will be on Saturday, March 11th, 2000, at the University of
California at Los Angeles, where we will be hosted by Dr. Jane Strouse. (This
should be a good warm-up for those headed to Pittcon the following week.)
The exact schedule has not yet been determined, but two speakers are already in place:
Dr. Doug Tobias, of U.C. Irvine will speak on theoretical aspects of model-free approaches
Dr. Tom Wilkinson, of the City of Hope, will present his work on RNA-peptide complexes.
Dr. Lin-yang Zhu, of the City of Hope, will speak on secondary structure dynamics of protein-DNA complexes.
If you are interested in participating either as a speaker or as an attendee,
please contact myself (pwheeler_at_isisph.com), or other members of the steering
committee, Jane Strouse (strousej_at_chem.ucla.edu) and Paul Shin
(alchemy_at_oxy.edu). This is an excellent opportunity to speak to an inquisitive,
knowledgeable audience in an informal setting. There is no fee for
participation.
Please pass this message on to anyone else who would be interested.
Yours,
Patrick
