Plotting problem on AC-300

Dear AMMRL'rs
I'm writing this in the hope that an Aspect-3000 guru
out there will have a (quick and easy !) solution to the fol-
lowing problem.
One of our Faculty members has a Bruker AC-300. It
has an array processor and an HP7550A plotter, and is running
1989- or 1991- issue software. Lately it seems as though his
students cannot plot from Job 2, but can plot OK from Jobs 1
and 3. Attempting to plot in Job 2 gives the message "S111
Device already reserved", and then ties up Job 2 indefinately;
any subsequent operation in Job 2 gives the "job active" er-
ror, and Control-K will not remedy it. Plotting to the screen
(DSPL=1, PX) works OK in all Jobs.
I have tried deleting all the SPCn and FIDn files and
rebooting, but to no avail. Job 2 will work fine until the
first plot command is given (with DSPL=0), then hangs up as
described above.
If anyone has any ideas, please respond to my email
address given below. If there is interest, I will post a sum-
mary or list of responses to the group. I am figuring on
re-installing the software but if someone can save me from
having to do that it would be much appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
John
